Wisdom of Solomon #8

Proverbs 8:22-23 (NIV)

“The LORD brought me (wisdom) forth as the first of his works (at the beginning of his work), before his deeds of old; I was appointed (or fashioned) from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began.

  • Wisdom is the orator in chapter 8 of the book of Proverbs.
  • From the NT we know that Christ is the Wisdom of God.
  • Solomon’s proverbs firstly points to Christ, and then to our spiritual growth in Christ.

Luke 11:49 (KJV) Therefore also said the Wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute[1]:

1Corinthians 1:24, 30 …but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

  • Christ was the beginning of God’s creation[2]
  • And then from Him and out of Him all things were created – things seen and things unseen[3].
  • He is the Light of creation’s first day[4].
  • This fact was never known to God’s creation until it was revealed ±2000 years ago.

Ephesians 3:3-9 (AMP) [And] that the mystery (secret) was made known to me and I was allowed to comprehend it by direct revelation, as I already briefly wrote you. When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ. [This mystery] was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles (consecrated messengers) and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit…

…To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out], Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan [regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men] of the mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of] God Who created all things by Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:26-27 (AMP)  The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints), To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

What a privilege to may know the one who is the beginning of everything!

What an advantage to have fellowship with the Wisdom of God!

How awesome to be part of the One in whom dwells the fullness of God![5]

May we continue to grow to the fullness of Christ[6], sharing His life.
