Wisdom of Solomon #28

Proverbs 28:5 (HCSB)

Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand everything.

What a bold statement of King Solomon, “to be able to understand everything”.

We all have many questions.

  • Questions regarding life and death, the past and the future, sicknesses and health, our family and friends, our jobs or ministry etc.
  • It would be great to understand and have insight into all of life’s questions.
  • The answers to our questions are not found in the natural realm but in the realm of the spirit.  (Dan 2:27-30, 46-47; Eph 1:3; Acts 5:19-20; 8:28-40; 12:5-12)
  • There are many different realms in the spirit (1Sam 28:7-13; 1Kings 18:24-38; Matt 8:28-32; Acts 10:9-16; 2Cor 12:1-4; Rev 4:1-11), as there are many voices in this world (1Cor 14:10).
  • The highest spiritual realm is the one of the Most High God, the possessor of heaven and earth (Gen 14:19, 22; Deut 32:8; Ps 46:4; 57:2; 91:1; Daniel 4:17, 24; Acts 7:48)
  • From this realm of His throne the Most High God (the Father of the Lord Jesus ChristMark 5:7; Luke 8:28), gave insight and understanding to Joseph, Moses, Samuel, Elijah, David, Solomon, Daniel, Jesus Christ, Peter, Paul and John.

There is however a prerequisite in getting this understanding and insight into all things.

It is for  those who seek the Lord…

The word seek means; to search out – especially through prayer and worship, to strive after, beseech, desire, enquire and to make a request.

Jesus said, “Seek and you shall find” (Matt 7:7, Luke 11:9-10), “seek the kingdom and His righteousness” (Matt 6:33).

This type of seeking starts with an inner desire to know the answers and then a striving after in prayer and searching and reading and worshipping (Acts 17:11), until the answer is received.

This may take anything from a few minutes up to years before the answer is known.

We may not always be ready (spirtually mature enough) for the answers but God surely knows when we are able to comprehend His secrets and mysteries. (Eph 1:9, 3:3-9, 6:19; Col 1:26)

May we not give up in seeking after more of Him,

May we keep on seeking, asking and knocking until the answers are known and the mysteries unlocked,

May we stay with the Spirit of Truth and remain in fellowship with Christ.

(John 14:17, 15:27, 16:13; 1John 4:6, 5:6; 1Cor 1:9; 1John 1:3; 2:27 NLT)
